Melanie Avalon is a SAG-AFTRA actress, with a certification in Holistic Nutrition from the AFPA (American Fitness Professionals Association) and Level II wine certification from the WSET (Wine And Spirits Education Trust). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California in 2012, with a double Bachelor of Arts in Cinematic Arts and Theatre. In 2014, Melanie self-published the Amazon #1 Best Seller, The What When Wine Diet: Paleo And Intermittent Fasting For Health And Weight Loss, a revamped version of the book – What When Wine: Lose Weight and Feel Great with Paleo-Style Meals, Intermittent Fasting, and Wine – with 80% new content and 50 amazing recipes developed by chef Ariana Resnick, will hit stores with a traditional publisher in 2018!
Melanie’s intermittent fasting journey began in 2010, when she saw a blog post about the weight loss potential and health benefits of eating one meal per day. Thinking it was crazy, yet always up to try something new in her ever-evolving trial of (unsuccessful) dietary escapades, Melanie vowed to try the whole “intermittent fasting thing” for one week. She never looked back.
By eating one meal per day in an intermittent fasting pattern, Melanie finally experienced effortless weight loss (~40 pounds) and energy, with banished hunger, as well as many other benefits: disease prevention, immune system revitalization, autophagy, clearer skin, and better eyesight, to name just a few! With IF, Melanie effortlessly maintains a low body weight and healthy muscle compensation to stay camera-ready, while feasting every night to boot! She is now on a mission to spread the health-promoting, weight loss-instigating, and longevity-supporting wonder of the intermittent fasting lifestyle. Because who needs silly diet restriction and hunger?
Melanie also personally follows a Paleo diet, with a daily glass (or 2!) of wine.
